Register FREE to Compete
Our U18 programme is designed for skiers and snowboarders aged 13–17 who already have strong on and off-piste skills and want to take their freeriding to the next level.
The programme focuses on performance freeride coaching, developing both competitive ability and advanced mountain awareness through practical off-piste safety training.
From January to April, we run regular weekend training days in Scotland, moving between venues to make the most of the best snow and terrain conditions.
In 2026, British Freeride will also host two European training camps - one in Tignes (February) and another in Avoriaz (March) - offering riders the opportunity to train in world-class freeride environments.

PRE-SEASON MEET: The British Freeride U18 programme pre-season meet takes place at the National Outdoor Training Centre, Glenmore Lodge.
This full Saturday with British Freeride offers newly signed-up trainees the chance to come together with those already in the programme, meet each other and the coaching team, and benefit from a fun day of pre-season training and preparation.
It's a great chance to make friends, check kit and familiarise yourself with what to expect over the season.
Though not formally scheduled, if the weekend promises good on-hill conditions we will, at short notice, consider moving to the mountain for an on-snow session with all trainees, and then running the welcome presentation and season planning sessions online.

This is a training and event programme like no other, designed to build skills and a love for freeriding, as well as an understanding of the responsibility that comes with the freedom of mountain! We are big on developing the right culture and respect amongst our freeride trainees, and hold strong our 10 values:- Freedom, Adventure, Enjoyment, Inspiration, Belief, Respect, Trust, Knowledge, Progression and Achievement!
WE WON'T KEEP YOU IN THE DARK!
At British Freeride we understand that coach feedback to trainees and parents is critical to help everyone know how they're getting on. After every coaching session our coaches provide every trainee with personal feedback on their progress.
This is recorded using our unique British Freeride Trainee Skills Tracker, which is designed in vertical format for easy reference on a mobile phone.
Every trainee that signs up for coaching will be setup with their own online progression tracker. That way, as trainees and/or parents, you know exactly how you're progressing, and what you need to work on between coaching sessions.
